My Year of Wild Art: Day Seventy-Three

I spent time today researching insurance to cover my art and liability if I rent the artist space I mentioned, talking to two artist siblings about their experience with galleries and listening to their input. I feel really excited about renting my own booth at the Marketplace and filling it up with my art! I have longed for a shop to sell in for ages; this is a low-risk, low investment opportunity and I’m going to jump in!

My plan is to pay the deposit and first three months rent (that is the initial contract) up front; then I won’t fret over making enough sales to cover rent as I’m starting up the boutique. How would you love to help me meet that goal? You could purchase some art from my online boutique, buy me a chocolate bar (make a donation) on my YouTube channel, or just be my sponsor!

My creation for this evening: I decorated another little paper bag that I made from a larger bag a few days ago. Christmas in May! Enjoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day Seventy-Two

Today I could not get inspired to create something, other than baking some chocolate chip cookies! I did, however, organize the huge jumble of cardboard boxes in my garage, breaking most down and even putting some in the recycle bin. Much tidier there now! As I was breaking down the insulated lining for a box that food came in, this piece tore off and I decided it will make a cool base for one of my collages. Perhaps I’ll create with it tomorrow.

I do wonder sometimes if anyone is reading my posts! Having more engagement would be most encouraging, so please do comment, like, share, and invite your friends to subscribe. Remember that I’m running a May Subscriber-Challenge now until the 30th. Get the details here.

My Year of Wild Art: Day Seventy-One

Woke up today with my neck out of whack and a throbbing head, so did much of nothing all day. A friend came for tea, and I was able to take a walk later, not much else. This evening I made another little tea bag charm. EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day Seventy

Today I went with my artist friend, Vlatka, to Folsom, about an hour away, where shse has rented a space for her art at Artfully Rooted Marketplace.  My Vlatka invited me to put some of my small pieces in her booth, so that I can test out that market before committing to a monthly rent for my own space. We spent the afternoon rearranging and setting things up.

Below is a photo of my display, along with the rest of the booth. The lamp base is a sculpture by another artist who shares the booth. I look forward to selling out! If you live in the Folsom/Sacramento area, be sure to stop by; the whole marketplace is pretty amazing.

The address is 608-1/2 Sutter St, Folsom. Vlatka’s booth is the first one on the left when you walk in the entrance; she sells paintings, jewelry and copper vessels, and her partner sells sculptures and paintings on wood. Visit the Artfully Rooted Facebook page here, too.

My Year of Wild Art: Day Sixty-Nine

Today I got my exercise by walking to my chiropractor’s office, about a mile each way. Must take my car to the shop yet again tomorrow, so did not want to drive it until it’s fixed. Grrr.

I also made a new video of my now completed Twelve Days of Christmas album; you can view that here. Plus a little video here telling more about the ongoing subscriber challenge that I’m currently holding. Join in the fun and you might win a sweet gift!

Made this lovely little paper bag pouch with a card and a bookmark inside, using the amazing “Voyage Beneath the Sea” collection from Graphic 45. I may add more things to the bag, and here it is for now. EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day Sixty-Eight

Today was another beautiful, sunny day in paradise! I participated in a fun video hop a couple of days ago, and won the prize on one person’s channel today! Woot! I’ll post photos when I receive the download.

This evening I made a little folio from a cardboard tube that I’d ironed flat, and decorated with Graphic 45 “Imagine” papers. EnJoy!

Be sure to read the post for day sixty-seven here to learn all about the subscriber challenge I’m running; it started today! Do follow all the steps in order to participate. I’ll be announcing the winner on May 30th.

Today’s creation:  I realized that I needed another place to store some of the smaller items I’ve been making, so I covered a tissue box with these pretty papers from Graphic 45’s “Voyage Beneath the Sea” collection. I adore these designs! Added some coral-colored cording and pearls from my stash, and a bit of “fishnet” made from a mesh garlic bag. EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day Sixty-Six

I began the day with a zoom gathering with the Co-Creation Community Conversations. We got to share, in groups of two, a significant turning point in our art (or other) lives, and later did an exercise to think outside the box and write out ways to expand our passion. For me, that includes finding a bigger home with separate art studio, where I can have different “stations” for things such as cutting, pasting, sewing and so forth, and all of my art supplies and tools neatly organized in one room. Expanding my passion includes finding someone to be my marketing manager/ virtual assistant, and someone else to videograph me doing tutorials, so that I can add another dimension to offer my followers. My expanded art vision includes a gallery and classroom, with many students attending my playshops. I desire to sell my around the world, spreading joy and delight with my creations. I’m seeking others to collaborate with, too. What are some ways you can expand your own passion, whatever that may be?

Reminder:

It starts tomorrow! I’m running a contest from May 1st to the 30th. In order to particpate for the drawing on the 31st, you must:

This afternoon I decorated and embellished the little paper bag envelope that I created yesterday. EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day Sixty-Five

This evening I wanted to clear out a bit more clutter, so I took some pieces from a paper bag I’d cut up and prepped a couple of smaller bags and an envelope to decorate. I also made a cute little folio with some great cards from Graphic 45’s “Typography” collection. EnJoy!

Did you see my post on the 27th? I’m starting a new challenge on May 1st; read all the details here so you can particpate! I will begin counting on first, not before then.

An Exciting Idea! Please Respond

I just had the brilliant idea of offering a subscription plan for a monthly journal that I make! I would offer 3 options:
a tiny notebook for writing down your gratitudes; a larger journal for more extensive writing, or a variety of different journals each month. There would be 3 different price points for the subscriptions, too.

These journals would consist mostly of blank pages for writing on– at least 32 pages – though I would include embellishments and possibly a few pockets or tuck spots for additional cards or tags to write or draw on.

What do you think? Would you be interested in a monthly subscription? If so, please comment below AND fill out the form on this page, so that I may email you with the details. I plan to open this offfer on Wednesday May 4th.

Here are photo examples of the different journal sizes, to give you an idea.  Thanks for responding!
