Having grown up in a family of artists, writers, and musicians, Quadira has been steeped in creativity since she was a child. Her father, artist and illustrator Aldren A. Watson, taught hand bookbinding along with other creative skills. Quadira’s mother, author Nancy D. Watson, taught her to sew, knit, embroider, and write poetry.
Over the years, Quadira refined her embroidery and sewing skills, creating and selling several cloth dolls and fur bears at art fairs in Arizona. She has also shown and sold her art in several local Nevada City venues, including Hot Summer Nights, Victorian Christmas, and the 2018 Open Studios tour.
Quadira is passionate about reducing waste in the world, and loves to recycle common household objects into objets d’art, as well as making beautiful purses and journals from paper, fabric and trims. Quadira is available to teach both private and group art classes.
