My Year of Wild Art: Day One Hundred Twenty-Three

Another very hot day; praying for cooler weather and more rain!

All I did today was to sort through piles of hand-written driving instructions to people and places I visit–got to discard many, as well–and then i made a pocket holder for them by gluing business envelopes together. I did not decorate, so not worth photographing!

This evening I was blessed to be able to attend the Zikr (means rememberance) part of the weekend Sufi retreat lead by Leilah Be and her husband Bodhi. So sweet to see many beloveds again, to dance together and hug and commune from the heart!

Enjoy this flat doll that I made for a doll club challenge, several years ago. Her hair was a pile of discarded thread scraps that I rescued, and her headdress is a piece of fringe with a rhinestone in the center. All of the elements in her dress are made with scraps from my stash.

A very good day today! I paid an expense for my business that keeps it going; I was gifted some gas money in exchange for home made cookies; my chiropractor allowed me to make a couple of payments for today’s treatment; and the cashier at Trader Joe’s gifted me with 1/2 gallon of juice, as I didn’t have quite enough funds to cover 2 containers. I AM so blessed and abundant! Thank you Goddess!

Since I was gone for the whole afternoon and evening, I did not have time to create something new, so I’ll share this pretty little multi-page journal with you. I was inspired by Gi Kerr of Happiness in Crafting. EnJoy!

Another very hot day–indoors! Fortunately the outdoor temps will be cooling off toward the middle of next week. Thankfully I have AC in my art/living room!

Here is another tiny notebook I just made, using part of a manila folder for the cover, with scraps from my stash to decorate. I have not added much in the way of embellishment this time. EnJoy!

I’m almost a third of the way through this year of creating and posting about my art every day! Woot!

Still in a kind of slump on my creativity. I had a block of time to create today and toyed with a couple of ideas but could not commit to anything! It was also too hot, indoors and out, which just drains my energy.

Yes, we all have such days from time to time, and I felt annoyed that I could not muster up the creative juices in that time frame. Ah, well, this too shall pass. Meantime, EnJoy this lovely Pincushion Jar!

I finally got something new created today! I was inspired by Natasa of “Treasure Books” to create these fun little embellishments with book pages. The first is a large tag, with an index page for the embellishment.

Next I decorated an empty tea bag with a small scrap of book page, and finally I made a large card to write on with music paper for the embellishment. EnJoy!

Another full day with business meetings, a short walk and my Artists of Toastmasters meeting. I started a couple of little projects, but could not seem to figure out how to finish them this evening! I’ll do so tomorrow.

So here is a lovely pencil holder made from a toothpaste box.  EnJoy!

Woo-hoo! All of the focus on my wellness business this past week has paid off! With the help of my coach, I showed a friend how she could save about 69K in interest and pay off her debts in 4.5 years, rather than 26 years, using this awesome tool called Debt Shredder. Ask me if you want to see what it could do for you!

I also signed this friend up as a new partner in my business, and am SO excited!! We’re on the way Up!

So I did not get anything new created today, though I did bake another big batch of my awesome cookies, and ironed some new pants and two new shawls that I picked up at the clothing swap yesterday. Here is a sweet stuffed Valentine envelope that I made a couple of years ago. Who would you love to give this to?

Too many days without a new creation! Does anyone even notice? Hmmmm.

I went to a clothing swap today and got a few really nice new garments! There were tons of things left over; however, I did not take a lot of things that would not fit in the hopes I’d turn them into something new. I know I won’t. My new rule is, no more things that don’t fit right, are too short or might be made into something else. I already have too many things waiting to be re-made or mended!

Here is a mint tin that I covered with pretty paper from Graphic 45’s Floral Shoppe collection. I use this to hold my credit card! EnJoy!

I decided to do something a little different for today’s post. Another artist friend commented on my needle cushion that I shared yesterday, and we got to chatting and sharing photos of things we’ve made. So today I’m featuring many different needle and pincushions I’ve made, along with some different sewing kits. The “tincushions” have small tin cans for their bases, hence the name. EnJoy!

I’m enjoying cooler weather this week for sure! Hope it stays this way all summer! I got in my stretch routine, a walk and two business calls on zoom, and entered information for a savings report for one of my practice customrs. I need to plan what to create next, rather than just drifting along and not getting anything new made!
