My Year of Wild Art: Day One Hundred Ninety-Eight

Ooops. I forgot again to post yesterday! Ah, well, here I am again.

BAD smoke in the air today! I’m so glad that I have my Air Scrubber to remove any possible smoke from in my home! And I’m grateful that it’s starting to cool down again, phew. I received another delightful massage this evening, and then a nice shower. Now I’m all relaxed and ready for sleep!

No new creations today, so I’ll share another past project. I was gifted this denim jacket last year and wanted to embellish it. I  found this pretty blouse at a thrift shop, which I decided to deconstruct and the attach to the jacket. I love how it turned out! EnJoy!

It was 107º at my home today, and got up to 85º indoors before I turned on the AC. Ack! It’s still 93º outside–at 10:40 pm! Hope I can sleep tonight, my bedroom is very hot even with ceiling and tower fans going and the sliding door wide open. Sigh.

I spent much of the day on my other business, so did not get anything new created and I forgot to make a video of my latest. Tomorrow! Meantime, here is another of my beautiful flat dolls with fabric clothing. Isn’t she beautiful? EnJoy!

It was 110º F in Grass Valley when I went there to shop today! Gag! It will continue in the mid-90s until Saturday; thank Goddess for air conditioning! I’m praying for cool weather fast!

I met some friends at the stores I went to, made some new acquaintances, too. Must be my outfit was giving off a vibe that drew lots of people to me! 😀

I thought you might like to see this little folio I made from a recycled butter box! I added a variety of scrap papers in the center for notes, lists, and so forth. These can be replaced once used up. EnJoy!

Another tissue box used up! I cut a segement into two parts, glued them together to make stacked pockets, and added papers from the Graphic 45 Little Women to cover the back and inside pockets, plus trims to cover the writing on the top pocket. The blue with flowers is the original tissue box pattern. I love it! EnJoy!

Another scorching hot day! At least my laundry dried fast! I am so grateful for air conditioning, for those days when I need it!

I got this idea from Natasa of Treasure Books, a little clipboard made from a section of recycled tissue box with paper on each side. One could add it to a journal pocket for extra writing space, or it can stand alone. EnJoy!

I have a plethora of empty tissue boxes that I need to use up! I cut one apart today and made this sweet stuffed pocket with Vintage Christmas papers by Sandi Nagel, which I won in a giveaway!

I used other scraps of the box to make the tiny journal, the tag, and the clipboard base for the card stack. I folded and cut another sheet for the greeting card, and sewed another small notebook from another folded page. Since I printed on just one side of each page of cardstock, there is plenty of room for writing, drawing, or adding photos. Who do you know who would love to receive this as a gift? EnJoy!

Today I went to the Grand Re-Opening of a team member’s UFO business. I was really impressed by the display of supplements and other products she had out, and I got to sample the Cider Vinegar and Ginger Gummies (sooo tasty!), along with some of the other supplements. Very fun! My friend is also a seamstress who alters wedding gowns and prom dresses and has some fabric and trims left from when she owned a store. I’m definitely going back to shop for trims soon!

I found this folded notebook cover when I was looking for something else in a drawer, and decided to add pages to it and put it to use! EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day One Hundred Eighty-Nine

Today I decided to make a doily journal, inspired by Natasa of Treasure Books, and to use 3 prompts from a weekly challenge by Pam of The Paper Outpost. The prompts were doily, blue, and coin. Somehow I could not find a way to add a coin, image or word, in a way that was pleasing to me, so I decided to skip that prompt.

I used two doilies glued together for the cover, and cut some folded pages in roughly similar shapes to make the signature, which I sewed in with my machine. I used a downloaded bodice and heart shaped skirt pieces (shapes from Gi Kerr of Happiness in Crafting) cut from a paper napkin for the skirt. EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day One Hundred Eighty-Eight

Today I went to the Yuba River with a friend and her daughter for a swim and picnic lunch. I got invaded by a bunch of groun squirrels when I was eating my lunch; they kept coming up to try to get at my food! Bold fellows, not easily scared away. I finally went and sat by the water to eat in peace. Meantime, my friends swam upstream to a waterfall, unbeknownst to me, so I had a mostly solo time at the river. Hmmmm. Not quite what I had in mind for an outing with friends!

We are in for temps in the triple digits by the weekend, not fun. I wish I could go off to the ocean for the rest of the week!

I did not make anything new today, so thought I’d share this fun Earring Holder I made from a grater that has a an end piece missing. I painted it with acrylic paint. EnJoy!
