My Year of Wild Art: Day Two Hundred-Seven

We got some much-needed rain today, yippeeee! More please! I took some summery garments to the garage for storage, and brought in some cooler-weather clothes. I need new rubber boots!

Another day with no new creation. I attempted to make an altered playing card but it failed miserably–it got too soggy with glue and bent when I tried to round the corners with my punch–so I tore it up. So here is another arrangement I created for my table a few years ago. EnJoy!

Woke up to intense smoke in the air–hazardous levels! – and luckily the wind blew it away about mid-morning, so I was able to hang my wash out on the line after all. We’re expecting some rain in the next few days, too! So I took down the fabrics I hang outside in summer to shade sunlight from my living room window. I also put out my fall tablecloth and created a small autumn display on the table. Alas, I don’t have a camera apart from this computer, and it would not reach to take a photo. I’ll ask a friend or neighbor to take some pix for me soon.

So here is another table-scape I created several years ago, when staying with some friends over Thanksgiving. EnJoy!

Today I picked up a free laminator that someone was giving away! She included some little pockets that will be useful for laminating ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) or other small items. The unit has a UK plug; luckily my local hardware store had an adaptor specifically for UK to USA, and it was affordable! I look forward to playing with my new toy.

This evening I made up the envelope from a free download from Gi Kerr of Happiness in Crafting; thank you! I embellished with some lace and made a closure with a little heart cutout. I love the teapot and cup on the envelope, so pretty. Added a blank card inside and it’s ready to add to a journal. EnJoy! I’m off to eat vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. Mmmmmm!

This evening I realized I hadn’t gotten around to making something, so I needed a quick project. Decided to cover this pill bottle with Imagine paper from Graphic 45; it can hold a sewing kit, Q-tips, buttons, beads, or other little art supplies. EnJoy!

Went to see my Chiropractor in Auburn today, then on to Roseville to shop. I found some lovely lace trims at Hobby Lobby, on sale for half price! Nice. Got another pack of cream cardstock for journal pages, too.

I got home about 8:40 pm, so have not created anything new today. This is a sweet little ornament I made for one of my sisters, many years ago. EnJoy!

Ahhh. Clear skies and no smoke today, hurray! Phew! I’m glad the wind shifted, as fires are still burning at a distance. Pray for rain with me, please! We need all fires out and moisture for our parched earth!

Here is another trinket box that I made today, using an empty packing tape spool and some scraps from my stash. I painted the inside with cream acrylic paint, and added a strand of tiny, flat faux pearls around the top edge. So pretty! EnJoy!

Woo-hooo! I made my first sale through my online boutique today, hurray! Big cause for celebration! I intend for this to get the ball rolling for many more sales now. This is the item that was purchased. Many thanks!

Lace and Pearl Clutch

This evening I made a sweet little container to hold paper clips, small jewelry, or other trinkets. I used an empty ribbon spool with one cardboard base still attached; I added another layer of card and some snippets of Graphic 45 “Ladies Diary” papers to decorate. I painted the bottom rim, then adhered some lovely faux pearl beads for embellishment. The bottom is covered with a scrap from my stash in a harmonious color. EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day Two Hundred

Hoouieeeee! I made it to 200 day, just 165 left to go! Yay me!

Nothing too exciting today: I put a patch on the back of my fitted sheet where it was starting to wear and tear, and sewed up some seams on my mattress pad. I really need a new one of those, and I’m making do until I can get a new one.

So I thought I would share something a little more exciting than mending with you! Here is another of my lovely dolls. This one is Titania, Queen of the Fairies, and is the first flat doll that I dressed with fabric garments. EnJoy!

My Year of Wild Art: Day One Hundred Ninety-Nine

Finally the air is cooling down! Still horribly smokey all day today, though this evening it is less intense and I’ve opened doors and windows again. I don’t like everything to be closed up all day and all night!

This evening I found a sweet postcard from Graphic 45 in my mailbox, advertising one of their new paper collections, “Little Things.” I glued the card onto a piece cut from a box that rubber gloves came in and added some tiny glittery dots to enhance the images. I punched holes and added the handle from a paper bag so that I can hang this on my wall. EnJoy!
