A Lovely Treasure Box

Today I finished embellishing this treasure box, made from a recycled cardboard tube. I created the bottom and the lid from circles of mat board scraps, and added a rim to the lid made from paper adhered to cardstock. I learned that paper does not like curling, at least not without a few creases! Perhaps next time I’ll try steam ironing the paper before curling to see if that helps.

EnJoy the treasure box!

Easy Ways to Support an Artist!

Did you know you can change an artist’s life for the better? Here are some simple ways you can support me!

And now you can also donate to my GoFundMe campaign and help me reach my wish of owning a Dream Box, an amazing cabinet for organizing art supplies! Go here to donate; any amount is welcome. Thank you!

A Pretty Tag and a Dream

Yesterday I made this lovely tag, using a sheet of paper that I downloaded from Gi Kerr’s Happiness in Crafting group, of which I’m a member. Thank you Gi! I love these beautiful blues and images!

This one is double-sided, as are most of my tags. EnJoy!

Many of you know that I’m longing to have a Dream Box to organize all my art supplies in. On the 15th I’m driving about an hour away to visit a friend who owns one so I can get a feel for it in person and take measurements with doors open. I’m also running a fundraiser to manifest the money so I can purchase my own Dream Box. I love donations! Please go to this link to donate whatever you can. You’re also welcome to purchase some of my art for the cause. Thanks!

Fun New Creations!

I made a couple of expanding pouches using recyled business envelopes, inspired by Natasa of Treasure Books.

The Wisteria colored one is made with white envelopes, and was my first try. Didn’t come out exactly as I wanted and along the way I learned to add the scraps of paper that cover up stamps and writing, before gluing the envelopes together! I still like it, though.

The fern pouch is made with a sheet from Graphic 45’s Nature’s Notebook collection, and brown envelopes that my utility bills come in. This one came out much better! EnJoy!

Black and White Floral Bag

Just Four Days Left for the Sale!!

Look what I made today! Two new projects inspired by Natasa of Treasure Books. The purple pocket pouch can hold a gift card, jewelry or chocolates for a perfect gift! Took me quite a while to choose the perfect closure for this one, until I tried out a piece of turquoise tulle. Yes!

The silver pouch is made from glittery paper that had been wrapped around some flowers, covered on both sides with clear contact paper and sewed together. I love how it came out, imperfections and all!
