I was reminded about the #100DayProject today, and decided to join in the fun this year! What is it? A time to dedicated 100 days to your creativity, perhaps to learn a new technique or experiment with a new medium, perhaps to take a creative class you’ve been dreaming about and putting off. Learn about the start of the project here.
You can spend 10 minutes a day or 10 hours a week, or whatever you wish. Yes, you can skip days; there are no rules, no competition, no cost. It’s simply a time to play, create, and have fun! Anyone can participate, artist or otherwise.
Pick any project you want, or a few different ones. I’ve decided to divide the 100 days into these 25-day segments (I’ve added a few samples of each subject for inspiration):
25 Days of Paper Bag Projects
25 Days of Tissue Box Projects
25 Days of Recycled garment Projects
25 Days of Pull Tab Projects
I will aim to focus on each topic for 25 days, though may decide to mix them up on occasion. I may or may not make 25 of each kind of project, and will allow myself freedom as I go. Who wants to join me? I’ll post each project here and encourage you to share yours on social media as well, if you wish. Be sure to use the hashtag, #100DayProject. The kickoff is tomorrow, February 23, and you can start any time. Have tons of fun!
From the #100DayProject website:
“Why do this?
To grow a creative habit.
To exercise the right side of the brain – to expand your capacity for innovation, imagination, and problem solving.
To grow discipline and resilience by engaging in a regular practice of creativity for a period of 100 days.
To reinvigorate your creative life through exploration and permission to play for 100 days.
To discover the value of practice and how breakthroughs often happen by making a commitment and sticking to it.
To challenge a limiting belief about your creative nature.
To challenge a limiting belief about commitment.”
