I found some cool ideas online for creating fun things with autumn leaves. One was a ballerina, which really appeals to me. Today I gathered up some liquidambar (aka sweet gum) leaves, then found a ballerina template online to download. I decided to flip it and color the white side of the cardstock, leaving the black silhuette for the back.
I used colored pencils dipped in water paint her face, hair, arms, tights, shoes and torso, then glued on layers of leaves for her skirt. A tiny scrap of red feather for her hair and a small, flat-back pearl at the waist completed her look. EnJoy my Firebird!
